Why bubbling bog?

If you had to watch swamp or other standing body of water, you may have noticed that on the surface is constantly rising bubbles. This is out of the sludge that has accumulated on the bottom, marsh gas. It is formed by the decay of plant residues by bacteria without access of air. Is marsh gas, mainly methane. If marsh gas long finds no exit accumulate a large bubble and there is a strong release.

By the way...

Methane is a combustible gas. You can conduct an experiment to collect the gas from the bursting of bubbles on the surface of the swamp in a test tube and set fire to it. The gas at the outlet of the tubes will instantly ignite.
