In 1769, a French engineer Nicolas Cugnot on the basis of three-wheeled crew built a self-propelled machine, attaching him to a steam engine. After 20 years, the American Oliver Evans designed a four-wheeled self-propelled wooden wagon. It was also heavy and slow. In 1887 the German engineer Gottlieb Daimler made a car that runs on gasoline. The growing popularity of the machine, the design was improved. Soon the car equipped with pneumatic tires, its form has changed, the engine was moved forward, the body and parts of the car began to make steel.
The size of the first car was great, and the speed by modern standards, very small - just 5 miles per hour.
