# ELECTROMAGNETIC TRANSPORT

In the railway, which offered to arrange a Professor B. P. Weinberg, the cars will be completely weightless; their weight is destroyed by electromagnetic attraction. You will not be surprised therefore, if you know that according to the project cars do not roll on rails, not floating on the water, not even glide in the air, they fly without any support, without touching anything, hanging on invisible threads of powerful magnetic forces. They do not feel the slightest friction and, therefore, once set in motion, keep the inertia of his speed, without the need for the locomotive.

This is done as follows. The cars are moving inside the copper pipe, from which deflated the air, so that its resistance does not interfere with the movement of cars. Friction on the bottom is destroyed by the fact that the cars are moving, not touching the walls of the pipe supported in the void by the power of the electromagnets. With this purpose all along the way over the pipe placed at certain distances from each other, a very strong electromagnets. They attract iron wagons, moving inside the pipe, and prevent them from falling. The strength of the magnets is designed so that the iron wagon, carried within the tube remains between its "ceiling" and "floor", not touching neither to the first nor to the other. The electromagnet lifts whizzing underneath the car up, but the car does not have time to hit the ceiling, as it carries the force of gravity; as soon as he is ready to touch the floor, it raises the attraction of the next electromagnet... So join in on all the time electromagnets, the car speeds along the wavy line without friction, without shocks, in the void, as a planet in world space.

What are the cars? This is cigar-shaped cylinders with a height of 90 cm, length about 2.5 M.

Of course, the car is hermetically closed, because it moves in a vacuum, and like submarines equipped with devices for automatic air cleaning.

The method of shipping cars in a way completely different from anything that had been applied so far: it can be compared only with cannon shot. And really, these cars literally "fired"as a kernel only "gun" here electromagnetic. "The experiences that I put in 1911-1913, in the physical laboratory of Tomsk technological Institute, was made with copper tube (32 cm diameter), which was the electromagnets, and below them on the stand trailer - piece iron pipe with wheels front and rear and with the "nose", for which he was hit in the piece of a Board leaning against the sandbags. The trailer that weighed 10 kg, it was Possible to give the trailer a speed of about 6 km per hour, above which with limited room sizes and ring pipe (ring diameter was 6.5 m) was not allowed to go.
