The Italian word "solfeggio" (more correctly it reads - solfege) comes from the word solfo, which means notes, musical symbols, gamma. We have so called lessons, which are engaged in the development of hearing: write musical dictation, determine on a hearing different intervals and chords, sing the melody of the first part, and then more complex two - and three-part. This kind of singing music with chanting their syllabic names called solifidianism. A collection of music designed to collegiana, as well as academic discipline, called solfeggio.
