"What ranges does this receiver?.." "You are the artist of a wide range of..." or similar phrase, probably, everyone had to hear. And in music say: "the instrument range", "range voting".
What does the term used in so many cases? The word range (dia pason) of Greek origin and means "through all", that is, in music through all the sounds. Under the musical range refers to the distance from the lowest sound that can make the instrument or voice, to the highest.
The largest range is the authority. It includes the ranges of all other instruments and high and low.
But some parts of the range, even on the same instrument sound different. For example, low, bass sounds at the piano heavy, overweight, and high like ringing little bells.
Different segments of the range differ from each other in sound quality, called registers. Usually there are three register - lower, middle and upper. The most common size of most instruments and singing voices in the average case.
