Chiffchaff - singer boundless forests, sprawling over a huge area of the globe.

Winters it mostly in warm areas, off the coast of Africa, in southern Asia. Arrives in our region Warbler in April.

In appearance the bird does not particularly remarkable: the back is grayish-brown, abdomen paler; legs dark. However, the main distinctive feature of this birdy - her singing, the sounds which resemble drops: "shadow, shadow, shadow." Just for that, and called it the Chiffchaff, and for the wondrous singing - Warbler.


The Chiffchaff is a typical inhabitant of coniferous forests. Jack Warbler places low from the ground, usually in the thick spruce branches, stumps, or simply on the ground. Material for construction are mainly feathers. This hemispherical structure with a side entrance. In the cozy nest soon, closer to may, the warblers will be the first Chicks.

She loves to eat spiders and small caterpillars, and at the end of summer berries of the elderberry. Fall warblers with young offspring join the flocks of Tits, and disperse them through the forests and gardens. In September Warbler will begin to prepare to fly away for the winter.
