Igor Severyanin Igor Severyanin (pseudonym of Igor Vasilyevich Lotareva) was born in 1887 in St. Petersburg. The son of an officer of the aristocrat. He studied at the Cherepovets real school. No other English poet has not reflected so well in his poems of nature and life in Estonia, as Igor Severyanin. He became a major translator of Estonian poetry into Russian. In 1928 the Northerner issued in his translation an anthology of Estonian lyrics for 100 years.
After the accession of Estonia to the Soviet Union in 1940 resumed creative activity, trying to be published in the Soviet press. In 1940, the Northerner has published in journals such as "the Red virgin soil", "Spark" poems, which welcomed the accession of the Baltic republics in "shestnadtsatimesyachnyj Union".
